I can't believe I am stupid enough to have to ask this. Maybe I am just frustrated, but probably more stupid.

What color wire for ignition power source for mini Maxx? It's not solid purple. I already cut the power wire for the tuner short enough that it prob wont go through the firewall, and I can't even figure out how to do that anyway.

Man I feel dumb. :banging:

Can you use upfitter switches?

Yes sir. under the steering column there is a group of 4 wire taped together that are individually labeled aux 1-4 (these wires are not in the same bundle as the huge bundle of wires under the steering coulumn.) Only thing that made me mad was that the aux wires are kinda short and theres very little room to splice and connect wires to them.

Also if you open the hood and look behind the fuse box on the driver side of the engine compartment there are 3 or 4 firewall pass through wires, and on the inside of the cab they are in the big bundle of wires onder the steering coulmn. these wires are slightly bigger then all the other wires in the bundle(this was the only way i identified them)

When I talked to H&S they said to tap the one in the fusebox because it powers up differently than a keyed source or +12. I checked my truck, it is #52.

As for getting thru the grommet, just use an awl or dental pick, poke a hole, then tape the wire to the pick and poke that thru the hole. Easy as can be.
