Well I have just bought my first PSD. I have an 02 F250 and I am thinking about the Granatelli Big G monitor and the DP tuner chip. The Big G advertises that it will work with many tuners. So do they work together? Can you use the big G to change settings on the DP chip? I am basically bying the Big G as an engine monitor.

Most people on here are going to say go with a set of gauges rather than a monitor, I myself have pillar guages (exhaust, bootst, trans) and the DP tuner gauge mount switch, 4 pods total, It's a very nice set up. Most people prefer the gauge because of simplicity and accuracy. I noticed that there are up to 7 parameters it can monitor, but do you know what it monitor beyond exhaust, boost, pyro and water? If it can monitor HPOP pressure and fuel pressure that it might be worth it, but I highly doubt it does. I'm going to say that you won't be able to control the DP with that monitor, but I can't say for sure, I myself would leave the DP alone and let it function by itself, the real person that can answer that is Jody,

Stacking with the dp will do little or nothing, it gets the most out of your truck all on its own. No you cannot change DP tunes with the granatelli, you need the f5 control switch. Doakster is right on the mechanical guages they are very nice and very accurate. It comes to a personal preference thing, I think regular guages in an a pillar look bad azz, but thats just me.

I wasnt thinking about stacking the 2. I just want the Granatelli for monitoring only, but I do like gauges but thought the Big G was more acurate. I kinda like the pod that mounts above the rear view mirror. So what gauges are good? Auto Meter, Greddy, ????:dunno: This is my first diesel so I am still learning.

You can get the Quadzilla Commander for less than the Big G, and its the same thing. We have sold hundreds of them and they work just fine. Isspro, Dipricol, Autometer..all good brands. I would say we sell more Isspro than the others.

A Pillar is Manifold pressure, Boost pressure, Right Pyro, Left Pyro.

Overhead is Rear Diff temp, Tranny temp, Oil Temp, Water Temp.

Underdash pod is Air Pressure, Oil Pressure and Fuel Pressure.

Dash suround is Volt, Drive Oil pressure, Fuel level for the 110gal tank and post IC air temp.

Pod on the steering column is HPOP pressure.

and there is a water pressure gauge on the dash for the water injection.

Thanks guys. I will probably use a gauge pod on the A pillar because I have the overhead console on my truck and there is no room to mount a pod between the mirror and roof. I think 3 gauges is enough for me. Its just gonna be a toy hauler for the most part. I will probably have a EGT, boost, and trans maybe unless the one in the dash is good? Which are the most important?

Do they have the warning feature? I really like that. I tend to wander all over the road when I start looking at things other than the road.:tard:

I like the ISSPRO gauges too they look a little different than others. I'm addicted to gadgets though.
