Could anyone tell me which wires go to the starter solenoid and the glow plug relay. I believe I have them wired correctly but I have two gray wires that are crimped into one eye, the two gray wires split from one larger black/orange wire that comes from the glow plug relay. I can not see where this wire goes to. Can anyone help me out?

Also on the starter solenoid, the wire that just clamps onto the "start" post of the solenoid, will it show 12V with the key in the start position? I am only getting 3V. Can anyone take a couple of detailed pictures of these solenoids/relays?

I have my '79 ready to run and this is holding me back. Thanks.

I'm having the same kind of issues with my 91 F-350 7.3, its been eating up batteries, good thing there under warranty, I'm on batt. #9 and 10 in 5 years. The worst is that the tranny was out for 2 years and it just sat in the driveway. But about your problem, I found 2 melted fuseable links on my truck that were the cause of mine not turning over. Check and see if yours are melted, mine looked good but after shaving sone of the rubber off the side with a razor I found out different. I've been searching for a wiring diagram for my truck for 3 days on line about to go buy the book. Those 2 gray wires crimped into one are a fuseable link and mine connects on the relay on the same side as the one coming from poss. on batt. Good luck and hope my info was helpful
