that moment when you reach the fork in the road,
then you realize that roads are for suckers, and just hit the hill head on.

I am now deleting the powerstroke.

96 DT466P NGD.
tune her to about 400 hp and call it done!

Good choice! Put a p7100 pump on it. I have the dt360 cracked at 20degree. My next purchase would be the p7100 incab fuel adjuster!

I think you’ll need electric fans. Sob won’t fit as well as my 360 (I have electric fans).

Sweet can’t wait to yours done! Mines all rusted to hell. Need a new host to transfer everything over. I got to say, the bts hooked up to it is freaking night and day driving.

Talk to scheids for a set of injectors. Mine are 5x12. Also have your p7100 ported/or whatever the magic is to the cc that you want. Mines ported to 600cc. I still have smoke at half fuel plate and full plate - I think I need more air.

When you do an inframe - if you can, document it b/c I have / know no one doing them and our motors are similar. I have the book but it’s not very detailed or I’m just dumb haha. I have some leaks I want to take care of b4 I transplant it into another truck.

I’m relatively new and just spent the best hour of my week reading this whole thread. Only had to stop twice to clean the drool from my iPad

I will document it. and I also have the DT300/400 series service manual..

just like you. its either not very detailed, or im f'n retarded :D

the engine has 166k on it, so im told.
all depends what my crank journals look like if I go all the way.
I want to build a stand for it this weekend, but we literally just primered my sons car, so itll have to wait till tomorrow

No, no you can’t :) advanced at 19 and half fuel - it’s a beast and bts makes it such a smooth transition. I think we need a sub forum dedicated to 360/466 so we can learn together. As I’ve been searching - all the magic and secret squirrel chit is found in Illinois and hypermax.

I installed it last month, and im about ready to go on a spending spree and finish this up.
got a 52 chevy in the shop I gotta finish first.
glad to see you guys got the picture thing worked out, now I can post more :)

That is sweet. I’ve always wanted to see a 466 swap. I think I’ve seen one guy that’s done it, it may have even been you haha. My one concern would be handling and ball joints and such. I’ve seen a few videos of 360 swaps too. I’d MUCH rather have a 360 over a Cummins if I was set on a straight 6. But it looks awesome, post some videos of it driving once you get to that point

Weight ain’t chit to concern with. Just add an extra leaf to the front axle and you’ll be good.

If I had to do it again, I would cut into the cab so I could bring the dt360 back 4-5” so I could run the mechanical radiator fan.

biggest issue with that, is my fan clutch mounts almost ontop of the head.

if it wasn't for this, id be cutting my firewall

as for the weight, the truck didn't sag much when I put the engine in. ill wait to drive it to see how it feels.
the front end has had BJ's and new springs in the last 5000 miles
