I can not say enough about these trucks. Love the ride, the towing, and just plain driving.

Attached bellow are my fuel records kept on my gps for taxes. The pre July 26, 2011 is from my 96 f350 7.3. The later through end of July is on my 2011 CCLB f-250. Most of my driving is in the Washington D.C area, 70% highway, 30% in town stop and go. It sure beats the gasser options!

Cheers!

I have a 2012 ccsbf350,fx4 srw and I'm getting around 15-18 mpg empty but I only have 8600 miles on it. Pulled my 40' fifth wheel this weekend though and only averaged 9-10. Gotta say though I was running 70-75 mph. Except for the cross winds didn't,t even know it was behind me.

At 60 mph on a long (400 mile) highway trip I generally see about 17 - 18 mpg. The way I use the truck which has some heavy towing but very little city driving I average 13.4 mpg. I have never been as impressed with a truck as am with this one but I have also never had a truck that used this much fuel. (This is my first Ford)

At 69-74 into a 10mph headwind I get 18.5, running 79 for 280 miles I get 17.4. In town mix of 80% stop and go I get 16.1. All numbers are hand calculated. I think at 65, this truck is capable of 19.5. I went back and forth between ford and dodge, glad I made the choice I did. A buddy of mine has a 12 ram and just went on a hunting trip, running 65 he averaged 13. He deleted it the week he returned. I know we shouldn't buy these trucks for mileage, however that is bs to bet that low.

What truck did you have that would get better than 13.4 mpg pulling heavy loads?

The 13.4 is my average over the last 3000 miles - only part of which is towing. When towing I can get anywhere from about 7 mpg to 11 mpg depending on whether I am towing my little 15,000 lb RV or my 30,000 lb gooseneck. The towing mileage is about as good as any of my other diesels that I have owned. Its when running empty that I am a little disappointed. My old 6.5 TD in my 93 GMC CC and the Duramaxs that I have owned both got 20 mpg empty on the highway. The 99 Cummins would do even slightly better. I am thrilled with this truck - just a little disappointed in the highway fuel economy. I might not have expected so much if Ford hadn't started this BS:

What a total BS article. That is flat out deception...I guess the 80 miles could have been all down hill.

Trip from Nh to Ma. I reset the trip as i was pulling onto the on ramp and this picture was taken when i pulled into my drive way. Speeds of no more than 65mph, good amount of traffic. Once or twice came to a dead stop. Now yes this is know as the 'lie-o-meter" but even if its 4mpg off you cant complain about getting 20 in a 350 crewcab.

Does anyone drive strictly city with a 6.7? Just wondering what your getting if you do?

With 3.55's and a heavy right foot 90% city i am lucky to get 15 MPG. Can't complain about MPG on the freeway towing 4-6K though.

Just drove home in a new '12. 3.55 w/ 20" wheels. Meter was reading 19 most of the time but when hand check after topping off the tank w/ @12 gallons, I 18.2.

This was all highway, but was varying speed a lot. I saw the first regen right at 250miles and the meter dropped down to 18.2 for like 20 miles.

btw, is this normal for the regen to run for 20 miles or so?

Regens should last at least 15 minutes. I have seen 20 mins plus, depending on driving conditions. If your only dropping to 18.2 consider yourself lucky. Mine goes down around 10-12.

I have been getting around 18 highway unloaded and 15-16 city. With my 9000 lb. travel trailer it only gets about 11 mpg.

What speeds are you guys running? I can get 20+ if I run 55-60. But at 70 it is only doing 17 to 18.

My mixed (city/highway) hand calculated averages 18.9

I got about 40 miles of highway and 10 back roads as daily commute

On highway I go between 70-75 most of the time with the cruise on

The lie-o-meter is in the high to mid 19's

That's about right....strictly city 15 isn't bad. Your moving a 8k plus lb beast from stop to go. For reference, the 2012 rams seldom get that on the highway. Which is why I bought a Ford.

This is my 3rd Superduty (2004 F250 SRW, 2006 F350 SRW). First 2 @ best got 16 mpg 65mph. The 2012 is a dually and it gets around 18 mpg at 65 mph. I have a hard time believing anyone getting 22-24 mpg at 70+ mph.
