When you pull your bearing assembly, you will see where the O-ring goes. Ford bearings do not come with an O-ring. If you are not having an issue with the auto hub lock, be careful not to distrub the axle to knuckle seal too much. If you are going to replace the seal, you will need an a tool, can be purchased at most AP suppliers, price in the $50 to $70 range. it is actually easier to assemble the axle to bearing/hub on the bench, then install it. the studs in the old bearing assem. must be transfered to the new assem. also. be sure to use blue locktight on them before installation. torque bearing assembly retaining nuts to 133 lb/ft, be sure to install the non metalic thrust washer between the two metal washers before installing the snap retaining ring on axle. you should also replace the O-ring on the hub lock itself, lube it with some vasoline before install.
trucks a 99. I am converting to newer rotors with it. I have to go cheap.i am buying an autozone rotor and an ebay hub with 1 yr warranty. I am only doing one side. I spentall my cash on buying the truck. Cant afford an expensive set up. This should work a while. The 4wd seals are screwed up.
As long as we manually lock the hubs it should work though,right??
