I have a 2001 F-250 7.3 diesel, 6 inch lift running LT315/75/16 for wheels. The problem I am having is when making a gradual left hand turn the driver front u-joint engages and I get a horrible front wobble in the steering and tires. It usually works it way out in about 200 yards of straight driving. But the last time I got under the truck turned the front drive shaft and the passenger side u-joint turned okay but when I wedged a wrench in the front passenger side so it could not turn the drivers side would not turn at all. I put it in four wheel drive and then took it out and everything turned just fine. Drive down the road 1/2 mile and the drivers side u-joint "engages" again. I have replaced the front steering stabilizer and just replaced the front automatic lockouts (they were very stiff and barely turned at all) with Warn manual and still the same problem. The front wobble is probably because it is only in 1/2 four wheel drive. The whole front end has been replaced to include ball joints, bearings, tierods, about 10000 miles ago. I had it to three different mechanics and still no luck. Any ideas? Sorry for the long thread.
