These new trucks come with like a wax rust preventative coating on the frame. I understand it protects my frame from rust, and it's done a great job. Has anyone ever scrapped this stuff off, prepped and painted their frame? I'm sure ford designed it for a reason but dirt sure sticks to it and it doesn't clean up the best. Just curious..

glad its working good for you. My rig is actually in need of a new coat. Guess all that wheeling back in my hayday caused some problems.

To answer your question though, why not paint over it instead of stripping it down? I mean that way you know you'll still have fords coating, but can get rid of your dirt issue. Just a thought.

wire wheel, needle scaler, wire brush, a gallon of rustoleaum, and some herculiner, a case of beer, and 9 hours i stripped, preped and painted the frame/shocks/diffs etc and herculined the under side of the floor boards on the cab, cause doing floors on my 90 f350 sucked
