Wish I could but do not know anyone offhand. Check the F150 forums online. They might know someone.

I can save someone this Sim activation fee if they want to add cell access using a pre-activated module. I am removing from my car and truck, so there will be 2 modules available. I have decided I do not have enough cell coverage in my area to use it to justify the yearly fee. One will show Lincoln and one will show Ford when activated by the buyer. $125 each shipping included in the USA.

Now here is the issue hopefully the company that makes the software will upgrade both for Android and Iphone or we will all lose this great app and tool.

Cheers

I just picked up a 2018 Platinum F250.

my question is...

do I already haveDL3Z-19A361-A?

I see some things in the settings about perimeter alarm.

If so.. then I just need that box for 310 that i see dealers advertising.. correct?

My dealer wouldn't be considered on the cutting edge of tech.

Thanks
JP

Larry,
Quick question Larry, I have read this whole thread and did not see the answer. So I wanted to see if I missed something. I have a 2012 Lariat. I have a factory remote start. I have already added the VSS and the long range antenna. I am not looking to add the RMU. The unit came with a long wire harness. My two questions are: do I need the harness is the first question. Second, does the RMU go on the driver side where I have the VSS or the passenger side where the TPS module is as shown in the pdf?

Thanks for all your contributions to the forum!!!

The long range antenna has a long flat/ribbon cable to go between the VSS and the windshield mounted long range antenna.

Sounds like you have the OBDII version of the VSS.

The RMU is a separate box would also plug into the VSS should you desire to add it one day for cellular remote start abilities. The cable for the RMU is permanently attached to the RMU box and is relatively short.

This long range remote start and/or the RMU is totally separate from the RF remote start that used the IKT (integrated key fob).

I think I answered your question, but, if not, ask again and maybe a photo or two of the cable/VSS or...

Larry,
Yes, it is an ODBII version, sorry for not thinking to make that distinction. Having said that I am sure it RMU plugs into the VSS and I agree it has a short cable. That part that was confusing me was one. The pdf's seem to show the RMU being installed near or above the TPMS above the glove box. The other confusing part would be that long cable that I will take a picture and send a part number to you tonight when I get home.

Pretty sure I am good though. I would just like to be sure, might clear up some things for other people on the forum as well. :)

Thanks,
RocketKatchR.

Question. I would like to put remote start on my tuck as I need more keys so I figured why not. I plan to just do the lr antenna and a couple keys. This Remote Access is cool as hell too though.
If I get the Remote Access later will remote start on the keys still work or it a one or the other type deal?

The remote start function on the keys will still work if you have the Remote Access App.

NOOOOOO!!!!

Just logged into the website to start my truck so it's cool when I go outside in this 100+ degree Arizona weather and I get the following note:

Service will end on December 31, 2020
Dear Valued Customer,
We are writing to inform you that due to the upcoming discontinuation of the AT&T 3G network, all Ford and Lincoln Remote Access subscriptions will conclude on December 31, 2020.
You may or may not be aware, cellular network connectivity is required to operate your Ford or Lincoln Remote Access system, and unfortunately, AT&T is in the process of decommissioning the 3G network upon which the system relies.
If your current annual subscription period would have extended into 2021, please be aware it will cease to function on December 31, 2020. For customers who previously renewed on or after January 1, 2020, you will be able to request a prorated refund for the unused balance of your subscription cost. If you are currently enrolled in an automatic renewal program, or actively choose to renew during the balance of this year, we have discounted the renewal rate for the remaining calendar year.
We appreciate and value you as a customer. While we regret any inconvenience this announcement may cause, we suggest you please contact your Ford or Lincoln Dealer for possible alternatives.
For more information regarding the subscription fee, please contact 1-800-FORDKEY.
This really sucks. I LOVE this setup. Is there an updated 4G system that I can retrofit with???

EskimoPie...

Yep, same here. Love the fact that when I travel I can start the truck from the terminal, so that by the time I get to the lot it's cooled down a bit. Very helpful in Phoenix. Also great when pulling the boat off the river to get the truck cooled down before hopping in on hot leather! Not happy. From what I looked at yesterday there is a 4G solution called Smartlink that connects to your OBD port. Seems to have more features than remote access. From what I could tell it seems to be a dealer install only option, and getting conflicting info as far as cost. Not sure if I'm going to mess with it or not. I'll probably look into it more later in the year.
