i have a 04 6.0 with 88k and a burnt up ficm its only pushing 27v. i can only get it started for a few moments. i bought extended warrentiy thinking it covered this stuff and it dosent! any suggestions on best way to handle.. are the half shells ok? :banghead:

So im probably gunna but half shell from ford today need truck on the road again. Do I have to get it program or install and go

Check with Ford on that but I think if its new from them it will need programming.

No programming is needed with the half shell since you are only replacing the power supply half of the ficm, the programming is in the logic half.
If you ask the Ford dealer they will tell you if needs to be reprogrammed, that is their procedure when they do the job, but it's not necessary (I think they do it to ensure that the most current programming is loaded). And keep in mind if they reprogram the ficm it will also update the ECM strategy.
