Guys: Was on a road trip through southern Montana. Temps ran fine all day on the highway...Coolant bout 189, Oil 192 ' ish... Got to Billings and hit light to light traffic and my oil temps shot up to 220 while coolant stayed the same. After staying the night, we headed to Sturgis/ Deadwood. All good until we hit the secondary roadways and hit the hills and my oil temp reached 230 while my coolant ran around 190. Mass panic set in.

This sounds like ERG/Oil cooler issues, but someone suggested to me a possible turbo problem due to the fact the temps only increased when under a perceived "load".

Any and all thoughts would be appreciated. I would only want to spend a few thousand only once!

I am pretty sure your turbo has nothing to do with it.
IMO probably oil cooler .....if you cant do it yourself I would get it in to a shop before it causes any serious damage.
