well yesterday i cut the cat and muffler out of my truck.:thumb:
it sounds awsome!!!!!!!!!!!:woot:
will this damage my turbo?
how much hp. should i have gained?

It will not damage your turbo...hard to say how much HP...Maybe 10-20 as a guess, although when I cut out my cat (highly clogged) and muffler there was a major SOTP increase

turbo diesels dont need any extra back pressure because the exhaust has to push on the turbo before it exits out of the pipe...i don't know what the exact ratio is but you have to figure if you are pushing 15 pounds of boost into the engine its gonna take some pressure to spin the turbine from the exhaust so you should be good. What cutting off the exhaust will do is add some HPs but mainly it will lower egts because the gases are getting out faster. You'll get some boost too. It will support additional mods later on though so its a great start.

same idea here just kinda loud and you get high if you in town at lots of red lights. lol the hood bout to have some strokes whit no zost.

oh well i just cut it out so i could have some noise and see what it would sound like with straight pipe untill i put my stacks on.
its gonna be a while before i put the stacks on .
will the sound be much different with the stacks than what it is now?

the sound in the cab will be alot different with stacks because the exhaust is exiting the pipe right next to your head. (especially with a regular cab)

Id say 4" great sound, breaths easy. I would never go smaller than 3.5"
