I have a 97 F350 Crewcab, I bought it about 3 years ago. I noticed a slight exhaust smell in the cab about a year ago. After reading several posts here and at the ************* site and some attempts to find the leak. I suspected the stock turbo downpipe. I ordered a 3" diamond eye two piece and after some artistic sawzalling and some portapower persuasion I got the new one in. The smell is just as bad. Maybe now worse. Any suggestions on where to start looking for that leak would be much appreciated. The truck is pretty much stock otherwise. I do have a round dial chip (unknown brand) but it only works in the 3rd position. I will diagnose that later. The exhaust issue has become priority number one.

Up pipes for the turbo look at the fire wall behind the turbo, if the pipes are sooted and the firewall is too theres you issue. Its easier to just purchase new pipes and donuts from ford the it is to replace the donuts, chances are the pipes are worn too. P.S YOU DO NOT NEED TO PULL THE TRANNY!!!! Long ext. and a 10mm socket, PB blaster and patience is all you need.

Thanks for the reply. Do you mean the pipes that move the exhaust gases from the block to the turbo. Just want to be sure. My plan is to try to find the actual leak this weekend. I guess I should have done that first. But I kind of wanted the new Diamond eye pipes anyway.
