I live in Orlando, FL and now have an unplanned trip to Chicago next week. I had the oil changed a few weeks ago at the Ford dealer with the standard 15w-40 weight conventional oil (they had a $60 special for oil and filter). The low temperatures in Chicago this time of year could be around 0 F. My question is will my engine be OK for the couple weeks I will be Chicago with the current oil? :dunno: I do not want to damage the engine but I would also rather not have to change the oil again. Anyone have thoughts on this. Thank you.

15-40 is not going to damage your engine. I run it in Northern Wisconsin but I do plug it in when it gets really cold...

It'll be fine, just not be happy starting up. That's it.
Make sure you get good fuel from further north and even winter fuel additives to keep from gelling. I'd even keep a bottle of 911 in there too.
