I just got on the Interstate hit 70 miles an hour with my 2001 7.3 PSD and white smoke was blowin out from everywhere the engine stalled and i got it off the road and jumped out looked under truck and oil was fallin like rain to the ground, it seemed to be comming from above and in front of oil pan, The dipstick was clean and no oil was left in the block. Im freakin. Any suggestions on what mite have blown would be appreciated,

Does there appear to be physical damage to the block? You could have blown a high pressure oil line on top of the motor. Is the valley of the engine saturated in oil? That tends to run down the rear of the engine however.

Oil blowout

I will check the top of the block for oil pooling, the engine compartment looked ok, coolant was ok, Is that high pressure oil line an expensive fix?

I really cant even make an educated guess without an idea of what blew. If it was your high pressure oil system, from what I understand your motor should have quit before serious damage was done to your engine from lack of oil. The oil pressure driven injectors, once supply of high pressure oil fails can no longer inject the fuel, which makes the engine stall. For your sake lets hope its a failed oring, or burst line opposed to serious mechanic damage. If you can find out any more information I will do my best to help, hopefully some other guys on here with far better knowledge can chime in and help too.

Did you find out the problem, I have the same issue

Did you find out if this was a high pressure hose, what did it cost to repair? This sounds like just what happened to mine but it's an '06 6.0 and all the oil was more to the front passenger side of the engine and all up in the front right wheelwell. I pulled into a station for fuel when it happened and first thing I noticed was the low oil pressure warning light came on then the engine died, I got out and just like you said oil raining out everywhere. I just towed it home and haven't checked it out yet, I'll look tomorrow to try an see where what happened.

Same thing happen to me it was the drivers side stainless braided high pressure oil line they are about 200 bucks new I went to the junk yard and got one for twenty bucks. If that is your problem fill the truck back with oil and try and start it you will see it squirting out this method might not be recommended but I did it this way and that was last summer

The hose requires a special tool to get them off it's like a quick connect fitting I used a air die grinder wrench to pop them off or use wrenches and take the fitting out of the head with the hose and off the hpop
