does anyone know what checks if the egr is working and what sensors are involved thanks 2007 powerstroke 6.0 i hope i posted in right place new here and going to dig into my motor

Although 2003, if you look at the 2003 6.0 Good Reading link in th signature block, there’s some info in there.

IMO a leaking EGR would be more common and that does not show up on sensors. IIf you’re deleted, could have codes that pop up.

The only tests you can do on it are for the valve operation. That will require a scanner that can control egr duty cycle.

What I really am interested in learning about is how the computer knows it has flow and how does it know the egr cooler is still in the vehicle ,does it see rising temp as egr opens and is there another temp sensor involved or does it use temp sensor in air flow meter ,would like to find good article on how tuners delete get

Best I can do is look in my signature block for good reading and that has some block diagrams, but not to the detail you’re asking. I don’t know where you’d get that computer code.

Thanks Chrisski I know someone here has been down that path ,I would love to throw the cooler in the garbage but don't want the light to pop on all the time and I don't need tunes I only tow twice a yr with it so basically I want reliability over race truck ,New here how do I get to signature block

My guess is you're on a phone so you don't see it, but this doc has some sensors and what they interact with:
