I have heard to leave the valve in place after doing the delete or leaving out and still plugging it in. When I leave mine out the turbo spools quicker and acts different then when it is put in place. With looney tune the egts were higher with the valve out then put it in and they dropped 100 -200 degrees. Anyone else having this happen to them?

I can't see why it would matter one bit. The valve is not controlling anything, since the egr cooler is gone and that inlet is blocked off.
The valve sits in an area where it is basically out of the normal flow of air in the intake. The valve is shrouded with metal all around it except for its outlet, so why you see a difference is beyond me.

Me either. I just know that it makes a difference and curious why. It seems like since I put the valve back in I have lost the fuel mileage. If I leave in zip tied on top of motor with it plugged in the fan and everything should still operate properly right?

Actually that kind of makes sense, you get better fuel mileage without the EGR hooked up electrically because the fan clutch is not engaging like it should so there is less load on the motor so less fuel used. IDK just tossing an idea out there.

The issue with the fan is that it doesn't come on full force when it is supposed to. Not that it is engaged all the time. In the end, there would be less load applied without the valve plugged in.

I noticed my egts were a little higher once i deleted my egr also with my looney. I just leave my valve plugged in on top of the manifold sitting on my block off plate

Still testing things out. I have it plugged in laying on top and seems to be the same as if it is in place. Im going to put it back in and unplug it and see if those problems come back with the way my turbo acted or see if I had a different problem.

I also have my egr cooler deleted....

Do you notice that with the valve plugged in you get better throttle reponse and notice your injectors our louder???

When I run mine unplugged my injectors are noticable quieter and the gas pedal feels like it's not as stiff.

I am conviced that the newer flashes are dependant on the EGR valve being enabled. I think that eventhough my cooler is removed and nothing is going to the valve something is changed in timing/fuel when the EGR valve is unplugged. :dunno:

Now that you mention it my injectors were quieter when it was unplugged. It just made my turbo act really weird. Throttle response seemed quicker to me when it was unplugged though. Better fuel mileage unplugged to.

wow say that again dejavu. When my truck was completley stock the throttle response and smoothness felt brand new. Ever since all the upgrades it seems like it just lags more noticably now. I know what you mean with the pedal, the quickness in acceleration just doesnt feel like before. I (3 years later) just bought an SCT today. We'll see if that improves anything. Im also wondering if a 58V ficm will help. Main reason for that would be for our winters. Anyway topic about the valve, Matt from gearhead mentioned about it that it should be plugged in???????

Yes it should remained plugged in if the EGR valve is still in place and the EGR cooler is deleted. The SCT custom tuners normally turn the valve off in thier tunes unless you request it on. I run my tunes with it on, and my truck has better throttle response. IF you get some custom tunes have your tuner send a file with it on, and a tune with it off and see if you can notice a difference.
