I would highly advise against it. There are much better options even though they cost a lot more up front. However, in the long run, an SCT tuner with custom written tunes and a set of gauges or edge cts monitor will be best. The edge juice with attitude, old ones at least, are notorious for destroying transmissions. They don't tune the tranny at all which is bad when you add more power. I can speak from experience that the edge juice I had caused a flair between my 3-5 shift which I did not have prior.

My RAZR made me send this...
Hint: I WOULDN'T give mine away because it's a hot, steamy, piece of dung that will trash your transmission like it did mine.
Thanks guys thats what I was lookin for. Since Ive got a new tranny with less than 1000 mile on it Im gonna take your advice and walk away! Thanks again

That will be your best bet. After having that chip and then going to SCT with custom tunes. There is no better way to get the most power out of your truck while keeping it safe.

So the sct with custom tunes,-correct me if Im not gettin this but if u just buy a sct it wont change the truck at all. You have to get custom tunes or does it come pre-packaged? And do you have a suggestion on whos custom tunes to look at? The truck is studedd but I reeley dont wanna push my luck but mo power is good and at 4.25 a gallon mileage is always good. Thanks
Here is the run down of SCT devices.

SCT X3 will only hold 3 custom tunes.

SCT SF3 will hold canned tunes and 3 custom tunes.

SCT TSX will hold canned tunes and 3 custom tunes.

SCT iTSX will hold canned tunes and 10 custom tunes.

SCT Livewire will hold canned tunes and 3 custom tunes.

SCT Livewire TS will hold canned tunes and 10 custom tunes.

Then there is the SCT 3015ID sold by Innovative diesel, in holds 5 basic custom tunes written by Innovative diesel and can hold 3 more custom tunes of your choice.

Any of these that hold custom tunes can be mixed/matched. Which means you can program the device to hold custom tunes from different tune writers. Example: currently I have Vivian's tow/agg tune, Eric's extreme race, and Matt's SRL++ on my SCT device.

If you thought about buying a used SCT device, be sure it's unlocked, and has unlocks left. You can find more info on buying a used SCT on this link.
