Hopefully someone can help me. I went to a dyno day on sat (
the only ford among 6 dodges). Run one with the dp on stock made 192.5 and 376.8 Run two dp on fourty tow made 214.7 and 431.5 run three dp on 80 perf made 195.8 and 426.7 run four dp on 100 race made 185.6 and 385.8 with every setting making more smoke. I knew i wouldn't break 300 horse but was hoping to at least break 250 and was definitely disappointed that 40 tow was the most powerful.:confused: Also, while he was getting it up to speed it was dripping fuel from the bellhousing until he mashed it, then it stopped:dunno: Im gonna call jody monday and see if he has any suggestions. Got any ideas?
Also can anyone explain why old 12 valve cummins make almost 3times the torque as horsepower when powerstrokes, duramaxes and 24 valve cummins are more like 2 to 1?

it was a dynojet. I've seen small amounts of fuel in the valley but never seen puddles or a trace of where the leak is coming from. After the first pull someone noticed the dripping

hard to say but after all four runs there was a puddle about 6-8 in diameter. What really seemed wierd is it stopped at full power

The same thing happened to me my first time out. I blew my fuel pressure gauge. Check your fittings on the regulator and make sure the fuel filter lid did not pop op. Check all of the fittings around the pump.

The numbers seem right to me, though. With our weaker HPOP's, the high HP tunes will actually fall off in most cases. My tow tune has always made way better numbers than any other. The big tunes just put too much demand on the HPOP. The numbers may be a little higher after the fuel leak is fixed, but most stock injector OBS trucks will be in the same ballpark as you. 214 is pretty respectable. You can't go by the tuner's numbers on these trucks. The smoke could be due to lower fuel pressure, a weak HPOP, or dirty air filter. At least you know you have some more power to gain since you are not burning all of the fuel, yet.

Those old 12 valves are torque monsters. The fuel curves are almost flat and give them great results on the dyno.

That confused me. I was reading his sig, but didn't read carefully. I saw stage 1, then after I RE-read... I saw future.

Once i fix the leak, how do i check the hpop? And also, since im not burning all the fuel i have what should be my next mod instead of more fuel via injectors? It was a shame that ford was represented by only my little #'s with a stock 07 cummins with a smarty puttin down 437-840 and a 97 on meth 525-1137!!!

Thanks for the help Dirk and Pipelayer:thumb: I found the fuel leak tonight, at the back of the valley there is what looks like a mechanical fuel pump for a carbuerated motor. At the back of this pump(?) there is a fitting that runs into the back of each head. With the engine running there is a steady drip of fuel. Also, would a SD hpop be enough of a upgrade to get full use of the chip, or should i go ahead with a aftermarket? Thanks again

those p-pumped 12valves are nuts grind a plate turn some screws add some sticks and a turbo upgrade and your breaking 550 horse a buddys 96 7.3 with a dp tuner and intercooler made 276 with the dp on 120 not bad i think....

programmers and chips aren't worth much past the second setting without a lot done under the hood!!!!!!!! and i do mean a lot been researching need good intake, good exhaust, upgrade turbo, intercoolser, injectors, upgrade hpop and then you still have fuel delivery problem with the old mech fuel pump. I have seen some pics i don't remeber where but with the whole fuel filter housing mech fuel pump all gone with a semi style electric pump, fuel filter, and seperator, all mounted on the frame rail it was awesome!

my 97 only put out 275 with the 120 setting on my dp tuner... i thought it'd to a little better, but the tuner is the only thing i have adding more power, so i think that's pretty good.... and 12 valves are nuts. my boyfriend has a 92 12v and all he does is mess with his fuel pump and it adds so much power. they're sooo easy to work on also, everything is right there up front. in our v8's it's like trying to work in a peanut shell!
