I did the DIY Tymar with the Napa filter everyone else does but I didn't put any kind of housing around it (also like some of the pictures I have seen) Does anyone who has this set up worry about water from rain, and stuff splashing getting into the filter and doing some major damage? Thanks

You would have to submerge the filter in water for it to do damage. Water splashing up on it from rain or puddles won't hurt it.

I know the donaldson/baldwin filters are made of water resistant material...so that helps too...I've never had a problem and I've been through some large puddles :sly:

I have a tymar with a donaldson filter and I also have a functional ram-air hood that the opening is above the filter and while driving when raining water comes in but does not ruin the filter!!
