they do add mileage, but only if you can keep the lead foot out of it. not anything like 10 MPG , but maybe 1 to 2 MPG. anything helps....

I have an 07 F-250 FX4 CC 6.0, I had studs put in, added a tuner from SCT LIVEWIRE with DJ's tunes. Loaded TOW, LOONEY and STREET. Prior with the stock program I averaged between 12-15 mpg intown and highway. I have run looney and average between 13-20 depending on who is next to me, who I am passing... this truck feels like it weighs 15 lbs, and highway passing gear? I nail it, then let off and coast around em when my nose is at their back door. I have gotten as good as 21 mpg highway on cruise at 68... but that poison testosterone and the skinny pedal often get the best of me....:dunno:

For the first week or two, you may lose mileage. This is due to the new found power. Even the most docile drivers will find themselves busting their foot to the floor when no one is looking. :wink[3]: After the intial fun, you will notice an increase in mileage. The performance programs, like our Street and Xtreme Street, yield the best mileage. An economy program can match it, but it lacks a little throttle response.

Do tuners really add mpg

I use a super chip and I learned a valuable lesson I'd like to share.
If you want Millage don't use the cruse control. I can get 25 mpg with ease by taking easy and gently moving it down the road.I tryed for 60,but gently was doing 70.If I use the cruse.I get 12-18 mpg.May its the tune but on cruse it down shifts to getty up a lot to keep up in these hills.I can drive the hills better on my own.:hehe::hehe:

Yeah, the cruise is really aggressive running tunes. It will kick down in a heartbeat, especially towing. It also has a clunk when it disengages. It does it on DJ's and Eric's tunes, but it perfectly smooth stock. I know tons of people who have the same problem. I wish the tuners could figure out how to fix it. It's really annoying.

As for MPG, I've done testing running the exact same trip stock versus DJ's eco tune. It's about 30 miles of gently rolling hills. With the cruise set at 73, I get 17.2 stock and 19.2 running eco. I've never done a back to back comparison with other tunes, but none seem to do any better or worse than the other as long as you keep your foot out of it.

My old econ tune from Innovative yielded roughly 17mpg's while keeping it under 70mph. I have since received a new file with less fuel and will test it out a week from now and am hoping it yields maybe 1 more mpg. The high power tunes just suck the diesel right outta my truck...no matter how I drive it.
