If you would like to become a member of the Dixie Strokers please introduce yourself here. Just give a little info about you and your truck. I will start.
My name is Grayson and I live in Moody which is 20 miles east of Birmingham. I work with my Dad right now doing Stained Glass Windows for Churches. I am constantly in the Greater Birmingham Area and the Alexander City/Auburn area so if you are around those places let me know so we can meet up. My truck is a white 2005 F-350 srw that is my daily driver and has the miles to prove it. I cant wait to meet everyone. Here is a picture of the truck.
Hey all,
I'm Michael from Warrior, Al. I am a Mechanical Engineer from the University of Alabama and work in Birmingham. I'm originally from south Alabama in Crenshaw county. :ORG welcome: how do you like mechanical engineering? I looked at several schools for that and UA is one of them, I'm a tide fan so that school was at the top for me
If you are good with math and science ME is a great field for you. It's a lot of work, and if you have buddies in business you'll be at home or school studying while they are out partying. I would suggest taking your core classes at a community college like Shelton State. This will save you a lot of money and headache! You can knock out a lot of classes there all the way up to Physics 2, Differential Equations, and all of those history and econ classes. Well worth it and UA has one of the best engineering departments around IMO...Good Luck!
My name is Andy Bradley I live in Shelby AL between bham and montg. I just bought my first diesel about 5 months ago. Its a 2006 Ford F250 2wd crew cab with the 6.0 diesel and 82,000 miles. I own a remodeling and design company (SWEET HOME Improvements of ALABAMA) and enjoy the outdoors(Hunting,Fishing,Camping, ext.) and a BAMA fan! Looking forward to learning more about this forum.
Hey guys, My name is Chris everyone calls me Bull. I live in Semmes just west of Mobile Iv had my 04 F250 Harley Davidson about a year now. Let me say its been an expensive year. About four months ago the oil cooler egr and head gaskets went on top of the dolly parton bridge. Then 3 months ago rebuilt the rear end.
Anyway best as I can tell It has the Banks big hoss bundle. six gun, speed loader. techni cooler, high ram intake, and monster exhaust. The tuner has only worked once in the past year though. It also has the FASS 150 fuel system, and a 4" RCD lift with traction bars and dual front shocks. I recently added a diy coolant filter and high idle mod.
Next on my list is to change coolant and egr delete, as well as head studs.
Welcome to the group, sounds like you got one heck of a truck there, and your luck with it sounds similar to mine. I’ve been repairing mine for around 7 years now.
Hey guys, my name is Clint I'm from Eclectic, AL. Its about 25mi north of Montgomery. I just purchased my first diesel truck. Its a '05 F-250 XLT FX4 CCSB 6.0 Manual Trans. It has 162000mi on it. As far as I can tell it is stock. I have an Edge Insight CTS on the way, but I plan fixing whats wrong w/ the stock setup before I try to tune it, EGR Cooler, oil cooler, HG and studs(when needed), Coolant filter, oil bypass, things like that. After I replace those i will feel safe tuning it. I spend my time with the family or out fishing somewhere. If you guys have any questions just ask, I'm sure i will be asking a lot...
Thanks,
Clint
Hi all, names Tim. I'm a member of the TN powerstrokes, thought I'd join in here and try to meet some more people. My family has a forklift repair shop in west TN. that I'm the shop mgr for. Been doing it for about 15 years now. Looking forward to G2G's and meeting some of yall.
My name is Glenn, I am an old guy living in Leeds Alabama. My title says I am a home builder but not doing much building right now. Got a few rental houses and pick up building/remodel jobs as I can. Just purchased a 99 F350 DRW to pull a stacker race car trailer. You can find me most days in my shop working on a Mustang.
We had a small block Ford in my 86 GT until this winter. It was a pump gas motor geared for the 1/4 but mostly ran in the 1/8, it went 5.87@116. I am now going to freshen and put in the "girls" car, I will set it up to run 7.0 class.
Hello All:
My name is Robert and I currently live in Prattville, AL. I moved to Alabama from college in Colorado (originally from GA). I am active duty in the Air Force and am also a licensed realtor in Alabama. I just bought a new 2011 F-250 6.7L Crew Cab. So far, I have put a Ranch Hand on the front, a Line X with Xtra in the back, a black low pro tool box and tinted the windows. This is my first diesel and I must say I am loving it. Just came across you guys and would like to join. Are there any membership dues that I need to pay to become a member?
Here is what it looked like last week before I change out the box and installed the Ranch Hand. I live over off of Old Ridge Road in one of those new subdivions. What about you?
Welcome to the Dixie Strokers, Robert. That is a nice ride you have there. I am not to far from you. I am over on Lake Martin.
There are no membership dues. All the we ask is for you to participate in the chapter. Come by the chat thread, picture thread, come to a get together etc......
I will get you added to the membership map and list
I leave the Dmax guys off the map on purpose. I want to see if the can handle our Fords before I add them to the map. :hehe:
Sorry man. I guess you just slipped by me. Ill add you when I get home tonight. I'm on the road right now.
P.S. You're not the only Dmax of the Dixie guys :thumb:
