I've been alternating between adding Diesel Kleen and premixing with 2 stroke oil at 200:1. I was wondering how Diesel Kleen compares in lubricity to 2 stroke?

CONCLUSIONS:

Products 1 through 4 were able to improve the unadditized fuel to an HFRR score of 460 or better. This meets the most strict requirements requested by the Engine Manufacturers Association.
Products 1 through 9 were able to improve the unadditized fuel to an HFRR score of 520 or better, meeting the U.S. diesel fuel requirements for maximum wear scar in a commercially available diesel fuel.
Products 16 through 19 were found to cause the fuel/additive blend to perform worse than the baseline fuel. The cause for this is speculative. This is not unprecedented in HFRR testing and can be caused by alcohol or other components in the additives. Further investigation into the possibilities behind these poor results will investigated.
Any additive testing within +/- 20 microns of the baseline fuel could be considered to have no significant change. The repeatability of this test allows for a +/- 20 micron variability to be considered insignificant.

.... I've been using a whole gallon to a tank but I only put 2 cycle in when I do fill her all the way up.... which rarely happens :hehe:

I get it online. Last me about 6 months. Depending on how much I drive. I wish I could find it in stores but I can't and it the only thing I have ever noticed a difference after putting it in.
Diesel Kleen is 10 on the list. I'm sure it better than running nothing but I doubt it's doing much.

the lubricity improvement chart put's it at # 2

and not everyone wants #1 in the form of BIO

however I always wondered why 2 stroke didn't bump the # more?

I use Opti Lube XPD. (just got 2 gallons at the door today). Have been out and while out used Diesel Clean.

IN the 7.3 I used diesel clean and 2 stroke.

Have you seen the test charts? That and my personal use. Its the only one I have used that I notice my truck runs better on. I have tried a LOT of them.

My truck loves two stroke and tranny fluid.

Runs quite, starts right up.

Is tranny fluid not good? I even run used tranny fluid and used motor oil. But used fluids tend to clog up my fuel filters, even though I pre filter the fluids.

i think the tranny fluid is fine ,, but IDK if it has a benefit
but at the cost of filters I would avoid used oil in anything other than a 7.3

i run tcw3 2 stroke when I want the clatter reduced

I've used Diesel Clean and didn't notice much of a difference. I bought a case of Stanadyne Performance Formula and it seems to help with starting and the truck seems to run slightly smoother but it does nothing to quiet the truck and as far as how well it lubricates I'm not too sure.

I've been wanting to try 2-stroke but never know which kind to get :dunno:
I've heard some guys use outboard motor oil???

Never head of XPD until now, I'll have to give that a try next. Bottom line is anything is better than nothing :thumb:

I use 4oz of diesel kleen white and 12oz of 2-stroke in a 16oz bottle.
The diesel kleen is a concentrated formula. Its a 2.5 gallon that is more than half the price of the 80oz bottles at $14.

I would say yes. It lubricates and raises the ctain levels to acceptable levels not to mention keeps the diesel from jelling in winter.

Trans fluid adds friction. Yes, there are some motors that can run on filtered down transfluid.

There is zero lubrication to diesel fuel from trans fluid.

Shoot some your diesel with transfluid over to blackstone. lol
