So finally broke down and had the dealer do a diag on the no hot start. Dummy plugs on both sides. so I might as well do both the standpipes and dummy plugs while I'm in there. Hopefully this is the last of the HPO system issues. Did the STC fitting last month. Also, the service guy said something about setting the dummy plugs to the correct depth? Any insight? Thanks.

Exactly, I think I've read every "no hot start" thread on this forum and no one ever mentioned setting depth on the dummy plugs :dunno:

tell him that only applies to '03/04 models and see what he says. if he agrees find another mechanic lol

The main dealer in VB has only one diesel mech, I was told he was one the top 3 in the region, plus it was the service advisor who told me when I call this afternoon they were investigating an "external oil leak" I specifically explained I have a high pressure oil leak and a no hot start condition!!

What happened to the days when you could crap in the tank and a diesel would run on it. I mean a little 25 cent o-ring stops it dead in its tracks, come on

Also, I was told it was leaking from both dummy plugs. I replaced both standpipes and dummy plugs, the passenger side had already been done once as it had the 12mm hex key, I see why they didn't do that side standpipe as I had to remove the cover from the heater core,(PITA), the driver side was still original equipment though.
