I recently purchased a 2003 F-250, with the 7.3L, and I am new to the forum. Nothing works on the steering...neither the horn or the cruise control. I checked all the fuses and they are fine. Has anyone had this problem? Will I have to replace the steering wheel??? The overhead console doesn't work either, but I'm not as concerned about that. Would like my horn & cruise to work though. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Kevin

Ok, just Googled it and printed out a "how to" article.
Thanks for the info!!!!
Its a pretty easy deal, just be sure to unhook the batteries a few hours before working on it. And ALWAYS keep the air bag pointed away from you.

Follow up steering question; will an 08+ steering wheel fit in an 03 7.3?
No. The 08+ uses a hex style setup, while the 99-07 uses a splined setup. The 04-08 f150 uses the same as ours, but wiring is different.

If the dead zone is too large, then you have to turn the wheel a lot before your car actually starts to turn.
....hahaha. if you have that much dead zone, its time to fix something. Btw, OP asked about electrical death lol.
