I've got a 2003 F-250 6.0 Ltr with 119K miles. Never chipped, oil changed regularly. Was taking my daughter to Disney World for "spring break". Noticed a little exhaust smoke at crusing speed. About 90 miles out of town I heard the "death rattle" and pulled her off the road. Had to flatbed her back home. (Took the car to Orlando) I'm now faced with number 3 cylinder down with a dropped exhaust valve. It's in the shop now, I'm looking at a $12000 bill for a "new" engine, geee, thanks FORD.
