I would like to energize daytime running lights on my 2004 F250. In looking at the wiring diagrams and researching the web it appears I may only have to purchase the drl module and resistor. Does anyone have any experience with this? Many Thanks.

OK, no responses however I went out on a limb and and ordered the resistor and control module for my truck. My next effort will be to run down the wiring harnesses. I am hoping that Ford did not differentiate between the Canadian and USA wiring harnesses and it will be a direct plug and play. If not, I will have to splice into the wiring harness(s). Does anyone have a wiring diagram that locates the resistor and control module? General consensus is the resistor is located behind headlight on the drivers side; some information I have indicates the control module mounts on the stanchion next to the power steering fluid reservoir. Others have indicated it may be located behind the glove box??? So far I have not been able to locate anything that remotely looks like the correct locations. Anyone???

None to date. I received the day time relay module and resistor. They are prewired to plug in to a wiring harness. So far I have been unable to locate anything that resembles a plugin location. There is an extra stab for the relay module to mount next to the steering fluid reservoir but I have not found anywhere to actually plug in the pigtail that is prewired to the relay module. This pigtail is only about 6" long, so connection options are limited to the radius of the pigtail. The resistor is supposed to mount on a plug behind the drivers side headlight but I have been unable to locate this to. Will keep looking:dunno:

I installed the DRLs this past weekend. Took about 2 1/2 hours. Was not too bad to do. 7 wires to splice, getting to the splice location was the worst of it. If you are still interested in the details let me know. So far they work great. Regards

It sounds like you have already got it figured out....but you could probably use something like this module which will be much easier and cheaper in the long run. But it also is always nice to have something done the way the factory would do it.

I know about these modules because I am a Commercial Transport Mechanic and anytime a customer brings a truck up into Canada from the US it needs to have DRL when we inspect it in order for it to pass. We have installed many of these modules and have never had any issues.

Thanks for the update, a lot of threads get lost once the solution is found and just dead end, if great to see the problem fixed!

I ended up getting an Ex that was already in Canada and it has the DLR's already hooked up. I'm about to tear into an oil cooler job though. :doh:
