I finally finished the intake I have been wanting to do for a while. Since I finished the turbo I have been drawing air from right off the motor. It wasn't bad in the winter, but a slight gain in boost and drop in EGT's is probably due to taking only cold air in.

Aluminum diamond tread 16x16'' box. 4 1/2'' air draw to turbo also 4 1/2''. Shaped 4 1/2'' cold air intake between the core support frame and intercooler, (with the zoodad mod done also) I am using the AFE filter at this point, but its time for a new one. Any suggestions on a filter element?

I replaced both under hood batteries with one D cell in the tool box. It weighs 140lbs, but has 1450 cca's and seems to turn over much faster than the two 750's. I am trying to decide whether to mount the H20 in the intake or on the other side where passanger battery was.

Have you thought about putting some type of screen over the intake pipe where it comes out by the core support to keep out some of the larger bugs and such?

No, I think the way air enters the box the big stuff will go straight to the back and......well I don't know for sure. I had thought about taking in a piece of plastic bag or something, not good.

Another thing, the water during a hard rain, in thoery it will hit the back and run down to a small drain hole in the bottom.

I will have to see with time what needs to be added. First I'd like to try a different larger filter.

What you've done so far looks good to me! The screen was just an idea. I live on the coast and the bugs can be horrendous at times here.

I think you got a good point. I'll watch it and see how it does first. Thanks

Nice Job! Did you do a write up of the Battery swap?
No write up of battery swap, but could do one i guess. Really its pretty simple: I was going to mount battery under driver floor board onto frame, but if you ever had to jump start someone or even getting the batt in and out, bad idea. I wanted the weight on that side for lift when pulling. Instead I mounted it in the Job Box in the back. I used #2 welding cable with Tewco connectors under the hood, they are a much better connection.

I should be able to run the radio for days now without worries. The battery is 11'' wide and 19'' long.

How about a pic of the inside of it, and a pic of the battery maybe?

I am getting ready to make a heat sheild for my stack, and was thinking that I could do the same thing with mine and put the battery insisde the heat sheild if it fits...

Here is the inside of airbox and battery that is mounted in JoBox in back. The JobBox is cut out to sit in front of bed over the top of stacks.
