'96 F250 resurrected from a total. Cruise wouldn't work. Some kind soul on this forum suggested testing the M/C switch. A new one fixed it. Now it's out again. When I press the 'cruise on' button, nothing happens. Been a while. Is a light supposed to indicate that it's active? Anyhow, if there's a procedure to debugging this thing, I'd sure like to hear it.

I don't know what an "M/C" switch is, but if you have a clutch, check the clutch safety switch. The cruise wiring goes through that switch. Other than that, it could be the clock spring switch or the controls in the steering wheel. When mine went out in my 96 it was the clutch switch.

This one is automajic transmission. M/C = master cylinder.

Is there a dash light that indicates that the cruise is on? I don't remember.

No light to indicate cruise on or off. I'd check the wiring to the master cylinder switch and all the turn and brake bulbs, including the cab 3rd brake light. Cheers!
