Hey guys got a 08 f250 6.4 psd im having cooling issues. My radiator has a small leak and going down the road i see temps around 198-212 and when sitting still idling it drops to 168-175. Any help would be appreciated

Possibly the thermostat is stuck open and needs to be replaced.

Sounds like thermostats to me as well, doing mine tonight but don't have your issues, just getting it out of the way. I'll let you know how the job went :)

Replace the t stat... How small is the leak?

According to all my research and my thermostat package, no. They twist down and out like a radiator cap kind of. There is a nice video on youtube that you can see how to remove each thermostat from the housing.

I have a new radiator already, but was still using a gallon every 500 miles. Ford takes truck apart to replace the famous radiator hose and replace it with two "O" rings instead of one. Charged me $280 without a phone call prior to labor. I was upset. Now, down the road and used 2 more gallons. Any other ideas before I call Ford tomorrow AM. Going 3K miles to pick up new toyhauler this coming Friday.
