It's a balmy 35 degrees where I'm at. I just got done coming home from work. The beast has been running for a good HR with 40 mins of highway driving. My question it my water temp never really got above the second hash mark. (Idk what the name is I call it the 100* mark). I've read all this talk about these two temps should be within a certain degree of each other. I'm pretty sure they were NOT. I've had hell with this thing since I bought it 11 days ago and just want to make sure this is not another damn problem that I need to stack on all the other :tard:

If you're going by the dash gauges they're virtually useless. Coolant temps read cold/normal/hot. Oil "pressure" reads normal at 7.5 psi when it's actually a LOT higher. You need to get some kind of monitor system to see what your truck is really doing. Scangauge II, Edge Insight CTS, Torque Pro, or Dash Boss are all good. The last two require a smart phone. None will read fuel pressure, lubricating oil pressure, or EGT's.

I've been think about doing the OBDII and downloading that app. But until I get my other problems straight with this truck. Such as the busted intercooler pipes, both batteries at less the 50% belts are bad, glow plugs, and a couple injectors. Since I did buy it from a ford dealership. I'm not dropping a dime into it.

Last summer while towing in the high mountains I got to watching the ect on the Edge and comparing it to the dash. I was shocked/saddened/surprised at how little the dash gauge actually moved. If your waiting to back out of the throttle when the dash sais your over heating you've been over heating for a long time.
Also without a monitor you gonna believe you got everything taken care of and you still wont know. The truck cannot tell you if your oil cooler is clogged and about to go. It cannot tell you your ficm is weak, and with bad batteries Im gonna bet it is. The $$$ that you put into a monitor will pay you back time and time again.

Without a monitor you really can't be helped out too much. You NEED the monitor to truly understand what is happening. Stock gauges are more like switches.

It runs fine. As long as I keep the boost down and don't put a load on it. The belts squeak but not too bad the injector And glow plug showed there face pulling a camper back home as well as did the over boost. Yeah not fun turned a5 HR trip into a 10 HR trip

best thing you can do is a monitor syn oil coolant flush with bypasses for oil and coolant archoil or rev x oil additives, not that expensive and will save u much $$$. Later u can start the bulletproof process that said that alone very well may take care of a couple issues you aiready have.

I must be lucky. My temp gauge works pretty well. I compared it to my torque app. If its going above 1/2 way then ease up. At 250s it was in the red. 220s-230s was 3/4. If your temp is reading low like you say then you need a new thermostat.

Will the OBDii thing and the app work for what I need until I can afford a good monitor/tuner. The truck is going into the shop friday for the intercooler, belts, tstat, flush and oil sender switch went out this morning. The dealership I bought it from is paying for the intercooler and oilsender. Im forking the bill for the belts, flush and t stat. gonna cost me $600 and the dealership I bought it from is forking the $$$ for the other stuff. When I get the funds prolly in a week of two Im looking at getting the edge evolution
