My 2011 F350 check engine light is on, showing the DEF heater fault code and I would like to delete. Do any of the Colorado members know a shop that will do this work? I am 70 years old and way past the DIY stage of life. Thanks.

Long answer: Depends on what county you live in. Some do and some don't. I am in Broomfield and they require emissions testing. Seems like most larger shops will not touch any type of delete anymore because they do not want it coming back to bite them in the a**. I havent setup my shop yet as I moved from Massachusetts, but once I get going I will be doing deletes, programming, and general repairs again.

I received a letter from Ford a couple months ago stating that they were going to do free repairs on the def systems for heater codes, I believe. A kind of recall for folks out of warranty.

Will your shop be in a different county then that doesn’t deal with inspections and testing?
I’ve been in love with Colorado since I was 5. Wanting to move just curious about where I can reside without my extra parts lol

Most likely my shop will be in Jefferson County. They do require emissions testing though. It just happens to be close to my house and has decent traffic for the area where I am looking. Right now I am in Broomfield, and am working out of my garage for emissions related stuff. I still have Massachusetts tags on my 6.4 and that has lost a lot of weight in certain areas. I am still undecided where to buy a house, but I want a house and a piece of land where I can build a 3 or 4 bay shop too.

Colorado is awesome, so many different places to go and explore!
