I tow a 28 foot enclosed car trailer. Truck has 87K and is an automatic. I noticed when I am fully stopped and I first step on the throttle there is a clunk or perhaps a drive shaft shutter? Has anyone else experienced this, if so what is the cause and correction? Thanks in advance.

Are you sure the ball shaft isn't shifting in the receiver? Just a thought....

Slip joint. Ford puts some blue teflon in there for the slipping but it doesn't help the clunking. I drilled and tapped and when I add grease it fixes it. Grease runs out it starts again.

Thanks for the help!!! Sure enough I took slip yoke apart and not much grease in there!! Greased it up and hope it cures my issue. Should know in a couple weeks when I tow again!! Thanks again!!

Gotta make sure you keep grease in there. I drilled and tapped but I don't have a slip yoke cover over mine so it doesn't last long.
