My trucks been acting weird. not sure what the deal is. But it threw a check engine light a few days ago but my scanner wont pull any codes from it. And the ford dealership wants 85$ just to run the codes  Any suggestions how i can figure out what it is without bringing it to ford?
i'm just using that basic scanner like you can get from the parts store. nothing fancy. But in the mornings it acts funny and sometimes dies until it gets hot. The CPS was just changed about 3000 miles ago. hopefully it didnt eat it that fast. The truck only has about 60,000 miles on it. I'm in lake charles louisiana
9 times out of 10, autoparts stores "basic" scanners will not read codes on a powerstroke. Call local diesel shops and get prices on reading the codes.
