A few months ago, I changed the oil.
It was dark and I accidentally removed the cover for the upper fuel filter. Diesel fuel went EVERYwhere.

Well, I got the oil changed, but....now I'm ready to change the fuel filter.

Is there a way to drain the upper fuel filter bowl so that it doesn't spill all over??

Thanks

Drain the frame mounted filter first. I used the yellow drain on the frame mounted filter and hardly spilt any when I removed the filter. If you do that the engine mounted filter shouldn't overflow.

fuel filter

Where is the upper filter located? Is that all there is too it, Just drain the frame mounted canister open that up and change it then change the upper filter? Do I have to worry about getting air in the system? Thanks

The upper fuel filter is on top of the engine next to the oil filter in between the turbos. To purge the air you cycle the key to the on pos. for 30 seconds six times. This is per Ford.
