Hey guys a gotta few questions about the ccv mod... i just did... and i know i did this in the wrong order ha ha!

Does it matter if there is a low spot on the hose?

Should there be a lot of air blowin outta the end of that thing? There is on mine at idle.

Does the less air blowin into the turbo mean less hp?

Finally does the turbo need oil on it? Like the stock ccv was doing?

Thanks guys feel free to just answer one question if your not sure on the rest!

the turbo does not need oil from the ccv and i do believe there should be a fair amount of air coming out, which doesnt effect the turbo.

low spot.... NOT GOOD! nothing bad immediatly, but if it stays that way oil will build of and back up pressure in the crankcase and make seals start to leak....

lots of vapor.... thats perfectly fine and normal, UNLESS you have massive clouds coming out of it... then you have a problem.... the PSD'd have "Keystone piston rings" which (long story short) need heat and pressure to completly seal from the crankcase... so when it is sitting there Idling you will have more pressure coming out of the vent....

it actually helps HP because because it gets rid of that obstruction in the intake tube....

the turbo is oiled from the inside and does not need the oil from the vent....

hope that helps! :thumb:

The main thing to keep in mind is to make sure that the hose goes upwards right at the point where it connects into the "doghouse" on the valve cover. Go to napa and buy a 90 degree elbow, it makes it easier to keep the hose pointed where you want it. I routed mine up over the brake booster so that any oil residue just runs back into the valve cover instead of building up inside the hose somewhere. Yeah a fair amount of very smelly air will come out of that hose.

When you say "massive clouds" how much do you mean? My 99 I just bought produces a small amount of cloudiness out the tube, nothing alarming to me but definitely noticeable- it's got 164K on the clock. I see you're in Redmond- I live in Lakeview and just bought my PSD a month ago in Redmond.

Phew... I'll stop worrying now :D
I'll post photos from home tonight (work filter won't let me into Photobucket)- 99 F250 crew cab short box 4x4, gold colored. It was at Thomas Sales and Service for a day about a month ago- I snuck in and scooped it up before anyone else did! Only gave $12000 for it and it's in prime shape.

It wasn't there very long, basically 1 day about a month ago. I can't believe how many gold colored trucks there are on the road! I stopped at Sportsman's Warehouse on the way out of town and when I came out there were 3 in the parking lot!
