Canadian prices seem to be about $13-15K (28%) higher than US. Makes me wonder about importing.

So some questions:

1) What are incentives like in Canada vs. US right now?
2) Anyone have experience with importing from the US?
3) What are people’s real-world experience buying in Canada?
4) Any way to ease the pain?
Some details: calculated both MSRP and Invoice for the loaded F-350 CC Dually I want to order:

MSRP:

$70,864 -- MSRP: Canada
$55,390 -- MSRP: US
----------------------------------------
$15,474 -- MSRP: Difference (28%)

INVOICE:

$62,979 -- Invoice: Canada
$49,746 -- Invoice: US
----------------------------------------
$13,233 -- Invoice: Difference (27%)

The Canadian dollar is worth US $0.983 today -- or <2% difference (a whole lot less than 28%!).

Thanks for any info / help / suggestions

if you can buy from the US and still register it in Canada, buy here and save a few bucks....

Rob ... Yep, that's my thinking; but I'd like to see if anyone's done it.

For example: I'd like to know whether anyone has figured out how to avoid paying taxes in both places!

On the other hand, given the figures involved, it might be cheaper to do that than to pay Canadian prices ...

i dont think you would have to pay taxes in both places. if you dont mind a drive, go to a state that doenst have a sales tax, like Oregon for instance. but you may not have to pay any sales tax if you dont register it here in the states. you would just have to pay it when you register it at home.
