I replaced my fuel spring with the updated blue spring yesterday. When I was putting it all back together I think I may have cracked my CAC tube when I reinstalled. I heard some hissing while driving and I discovered a hairline crack right on the upper part of the tube right near where I was pushing to get it back on the elbow.
I no doubt need a new one, but this is my only transportation. Is there any risk of driving around town? I'll drive like a grandma and stay off the turbo.

Secondly, where is the best source for the replacement? Tousley?

It will cause slightly higher egt's and if it starts breaking into pieces than that would be something I would be worrying about. If you baby it you should be fine until you get a new one.

Do a search on here and you will find it. I think it was in the 6.0l performance setion.

Duct tape will get you fixed up till the new pipe comes in. I got the 2003 metal pipe recently from the dealer. Looks great and no more POS plastic to worry about in the future.

Do you mind if I ask how much was the metal version through the dealer?

I'd say under $130 but I'd have to find the receipt. It was as much as the web retailers so I just went with my locals. I try to support the smaller dealerships when I can.

Don't give them your VIN or model year or they might not look it up for you. technically the part only applies to 05 trucks for a certain service bulletin

6C3Z-6C640-AA is the part number for the cold side metal cac tube and boots. It fits all trucks 05-07. Bolt it on and throw that black piece of crap in the garbage

You could alternatively do like I did and order the complete package from RiffRaff and upgrade your Ford boots as well. I got the metal CAC pipe and all 4 new boots through them. Sure dresses up the engine bay, and the boots are ALOT better quality than OEM.

I did the same thing Kthed I got my whole intercooler boot kit from RiffRaff Diesel Performance and got the metal Cold side CAC tube from sunrise. Between the 2 of them I had $255 for all of it.

That's the route to go. Metal CAC tube and RiffRaff boots. Only complaint I have is the week I blew a hole in one of my OEM boots, RiffRaff was moving locations and the shipping was slowwww... :doh: but well worth the wait. Now I need to finally finalize a CCV mod design so I can keep those beauties clean.

I just ordered the Ford upgraded metal pipe (6C3Z-6C640-AA) through Tousley. I figure I need to get back on the road ASAP. I can upgrade the boots through Riff Raff later.

Are those guys pretty fast when it comes to shipping?

Depends on how fast you need them. I did two-day on mine, and they were here in two days. But they charge various rates for shipping rates and times.
