So This morning my boss came up to me asking if I was missing something Off my truck. Didn't realize it till I saw it that my rear left top leaf spring had broken off.

I'm driving a 2003 F250 7.3 Rear wheel drive truck.

I guess its not to big of an urgency to place it at this exact moment but When I do, which will be in a couple weeks, What do I need to look for?

I was thinking since the top ones got to be replaced anyways(Ill be replacing both sides) maybe I could get a little bit of a stronger one to put on, maybe can add a little bit of a lift to it and such.

Anyone have any tips or input on this?
Where to buy, what to buy, so forth.

Thanks

Your cheapest remedy would be to go to a junk yard and pull a set off a wrecked truck. Had to do this once on my F150 that i decided to haul 2 tons in the bed with.
Or just the one you need...spring rate may varry tho if you did just one side.

Or if you want a lift spring then you can find an aftermarket set by searching google.

If your not hauling weight that is exceding your weight capacity in your bed then there is no point in getting a stronger set.
Do you haul in your bed? How much weight on average if so?

Well I thought I had already mentioned that in my first post.

I do plan on replacing both rear sides top leaf springs.

My main question is, since I'm going to be replacing them anyways due to them being broke is maybe I could get a stronger spring or thicker one to give it a little bit of a lift or to help out when ever I do pull every once in awhile

you can have some made/find newer takeoffs (i sold my 06 springs for 30 bucks to a friend)or get a lift spring from the likes of super lift .. but i think the minimum is 4 inch?

spring thickness is usually about the same ,, yours broke because it was stressed
while it happens it isn't a real plague.

I suggest a OEM spring and if you want a small lift use a replacement block and u bolts
