Hello all,

I bought a BT adapter to use with the Torque app for my 01 7.3. I cannot seem to get it to work. I can connect to the adapter with the phone but cannot get any info from the truck.

I bought an ELM327 V1.5 Bluetooth OBD II 2 Car Auto Diagnostic Scanner Tool Advanced Adapter by Vgate Is there something I am missing why I cannot get any data from the truck?

I have this one and it works fine on mine. Try resetting your phone with the connector off, then plug connector in before you open up torque pro. I do hear some adapters don't work as well as others, but my cheap as dirt one works.

If you read the Amazon reviews some of them may have been defective. If it still doesn't work, I'd return it if you can.

I see some reviewers say it DOES NOT work with Ford vehicles. Obviously yours does, hopefully mine is not dead.

^ Yesterday using that adapter. I think a lot of the reviews saying it doesn't work is that the Torque Pro app needs predefined settings to run on the powerstroke. It doesn't work otherwise. Which is the app problem not the adapter.

Though I see other people saying it wasn't working and I have to wonder if it's the app or just the fact that it is a really cheap adapter and quality control probably isn't the greatest.

SBluke helped me figure out the app. I found that itw as a lot easier to set up once you add the predefined settings for Ford and figure out the gauges while it's running. It will show values while you're picking what gauges while it's running, which helped me to understand more of what I was looking for.
Also, I don't know if it's all of them, but my truck will stall out checking codes if it's running. There is a setting to turn off the automatic checking, otherwise it resets teh ECM every time it checks - which kills the motor instantly.

I have the same adapter. It doesnt work on my 02 powerstroke, but it works well on the 2011 explorer and 2006 focus. I am just using the free app to see if it even works. Any suggestions?
