Dealer called and said I have blown head gaskets. I'm going to ask them tomorrow to install ARP head studs for me. I'll mention about getting the heads resurfaced and make sure they at least check them for me. I'm hoping this can be a close to bullet proof fix for me. My question is, can you reuse head studs if I were to blow them again and want someone else to do it? Also, anything else I should try and get done through the dealer? They told me 2 weeks turn around time!

I had mine done in 4 days, and the only reason it took that long was because it was under warranty and the info had to be sent in to Ford for approval of requested parts and then the parts had to be shipped to the dealer doing the repair. All in all it could've been done in one to two days from the time I dropped it off to be torn down to the time it was ready for me to pick it up. If yours is already torn down it shouldn't take that long. Make sure they replace any of the heads that aren't in spec. According to Scuffy, Scuffy did mine, they only allow 2 thousanths. I think one of mine was right at the allowable limit so the Scuff man didn't pussy foot around with Ford and replaced the head on one side too. :thumb:Scuffy really puts the customer first. Where are you located, anywhere close to North Carolina?

I live in San Diego. I was gonna call the diesel tech at the dealer and ask him about studs and checking the heads. Hopefully he can do it right for me

Two week turnaround? WOW! I had mine done in four days. It would have been the day before, but the tech had a rookie working with him on my truck and he had to run to the parts room and while he was there, the rookie put a rocker arm on wrong and ended up breaking the rocker, valve bridge and bending the pushrod. I had to wait till the next day cause the parts were 45 min away and they had to ship them:banging:

They are Elite Stage 1s. I have a buddy up here that had them in his 04. He traded his truck in and I asked him if he would trade me straight up for my stock injectors.

Yeah, talk to the tech, not the people at the service desk. Maybe a tech will chime in here and reassure you. Gotta love those guys :)!
