Hi guys I was just wondering if any of you with 450's are running 265 or 285's on the factory 19.5's and if so what brand. Also what size lift if any?

Soon to have a 450 pickup and looking at making it taller by a little bit.

ok here it is at 18 hrs old to me and just over 500 miles on the odo (picked it up with 420 on it) ready for a 3 day 800 mile road tirp:woot:

Stock Rims will not work with 265 or 285 tires, the sidewall stiffness is the issue. these HD XX.5 tires are not like the non half sizes and will not tollerate being fit to a undersized rim. I believe the 265/70R 19.5 needs to be fit to either a 6.75 or 7.50 width rim, the 285/70R 19.5 needs a 7.50 rim.

I am looking at going withthe 285/70R 19.5 Michilens on my 450, and from what I am seeing I will need to trim a bit of inner fender up front to make them work without a lift.

im running 285s with no problem at all for 8k miles just using a good spacer.

285/75R 16 Non comercial tires will tollerate a narrower rim more flexible sidewall.

285/70R 19.5 Commercial tires need to be mounted on a 7.50 rim width due to the sidewall stiffness......

PS I do not think F450 have run 16 inch rims for quite a while due to the 14+ inch brake rotors

I will take those 19.5's off of you and give you my 16's :hehe: and you can run as big as you want.......jk agreed 19.5's done have much choice in tires. thanks why most guys are doing the 22.5's and milling them down to 20's for more choices.

Not looking to run 22.5 or compromise them by turning the rims down to 22. Silliest thing I have ever heard. Just buy the 22 from a wheel company.

I am not looking for 22 or 22.5 just a little bigger tire for my rig to add some ground clearance and fill the huge wheel wells some. Need to stay with the load capacity. going to 22.5 opens up a whole can of issues startign with width, and adapters.... not looking to go there at all.
