I've been smelling coolant fir sometime after truck was upto operating temp...

Never could see any leaks or coolant puddles anywhere ...took a look today to check coolant level and smelled it stronger...looked on the fan shroud and saw the pasty residue....touched the bottom of the upper hose clamp...

I swapped my tstat a little while ago and swapped the clamps.

The upper clamp had been replaced w a band style clamp vs oem squeeze clamp...I'm thinking this was why..

Are these clamps prone to loosing their clamping force?
