The local dealer just called and they want to pull the engine and replace the bed plate seals. This is the 5th or 6th oil leak they have tried to fix. This is the first time pulling the enging. Has anyone had this type of work done?

The gas tank has been leaking and the dealer has replaced the gasket twice on the top of the tank. When you look at the tank it looks like it has gas dripping down the side of the tank. No actual drips just a wet stain look. Dealer seems to think this is normal on all trucks. Does anyone have this same problem?

Love this truck pulling the 5th wheel, hate looking under it to find it leaking all the time.

Thanks for any help.

Under extended warranty and $100 deduct - I had to have my bed plate gasket replaced - and they apparently had to "remove engine" as well. This was at 44k.

Sounds like the gas tank may have a hairline fracture somewhere possibly. :dunno:

Fuel dripping from the fuel tank is not a normal thing !!!

The engine does have to be pulled to do the bedplate seals. It is fairly common for them to leak.

I had my engine pulled at 35k mi. but not for that reason.

I have the bedplate problem--been there since 30 something k. I need to take the truck in to have it fixed at some point. I just can't afford to be without it for the 2 weeks they'd probably take to do the job right now.

The fuel leak happened to mine too. It was the O-ring that seals the sending unit. The old one was hard as a rock. It only leaked when it was nearly full and parked at an angle. I fixed it myself since it was over 36k. It hasn't leaked since.
