Nancy informed me the other day that she kinda wants a duramax, and that I should take her truck to DD after I buy her one.

I was like, really? I'd have to change my screen name on like 15 different forums...

As soon as I got over that I'd be WOT out in the pasture with a trailer full of round bales, and then it would go cross eyed and I'd be walking back to the house.

I'm not just saying that either, every time we need to put out hay it rains. Except when it snows.

$75 set of tie-rod sleeves will take care of the "cross eyed" problem. They are recomended for anybody that does moderate off roading, racing and pulling. So in the pasture it be a nessasary upgrade.:thumb:

Heres some looking around info. Stay away from the '01 - '04 LB7, injector problems. Easy way to tell feed lines and wire harness goes thru valve cover for injectors. '04.5 - '05 LLY Some were prone to having cooling problems. '06 - '07 LBZ best one in my opinion. First year for 6-spd allison the others were 5spds, you hardly ever hear of injectors going out, which are external from this year and up, and from the factory came with 365hp/610tq. '07.5 - up LMM good engine little more power from factory but stricter emisions(dpf, etc...). Some early '06's like mine were the LBZ engine with the '05 engine tune cause the emisions did not get certified in time for production, but a good tunner either handheld or custom will get you where you need to be. My truck when I had the PPE tunner on lvl 4 which was 225hp I made 452/900 @ beans in Dec. and that is borderline where you want to be w/o a lift pump and better built trans. You can look in the glove box to find out what engine is in the truck the code sheet is laminated in there and they are alphabetical. Just food for thought!:thumb:

Thanks for the info. If I get one it'll be an LBZ most likely. Wish I could get one with a ZF6...

Im not sure. I will ask him. I know it needs injectors again. The paint has scratches in it, but no rust. Its a "LT" model. Or whatever the nicest model of that year (2003) Has 270ish on the clock. lol Auto trans.

Will do. Ill try to get in touch with him tonight.

Back when I was working full time with him we never had a single problem with it other than injectors.

I put 100k of those 270k on it. I dont know if that would make you fell better or worse :funny:
