We are looking at getting an exhaust brake for our truck, a 2003, F250, 7.3L diesel.

We looked at the BD exhaust brake that fits our vehicle and we have a Super Chips Programmer in it already that has a tow haul mode feature in it.

Do we need either the TowLoc, or the AutoLoc, or the TorqLoc.

The more I read up - the more confused I am. Which way do we go?
(be nice now..........)

I am sorry I don't know how I missed this one for so long. The automatic transmission equipped vehicle will need to go with our exhaust brake part number 1027145AP. The AP is the code for our autoloc pressureloc control module. The transmission likes to keep the rpm fairly low so when you activate the brake we need to get it to downshift to bring the RPM back up to the point of having effective braking. Send me a PM for pricing.

BD Exhaust brake info

Thanks for replying - better late than never!
As it turns out we took our trip to the mountains and blew our transmission on the way up one of the mountains. (Needless to say that put a little 'crimp' on the financial end of the vacation) Now we have a Jasper transmission with a 3 year, 100,000 mile warranty and have had no problems. Our old transmission was just at 100,000 miles anyway and we KNEW it was the weak link in our 7.3 diesel truck!
But we still want to put an exhaust system on our truck BEFORE our next trip which hopefully will be next summer.
If you could email me some info that would be great!
My email is: [email protected]
Thanks,
Jo:woot:

Wow not only did I miss the post for a long time, when I finally answer it I gave you the wrong information. I was thinking you had a 6.0 not the 7.3. On your truck you would need to go with the 2023144 turbo mounted exhaust brake and either the 1030390 autoloc or 1030395 torqloc. We need to use the transmission control module to hold the converter to locked up. This way the brake will work down to 20mpg.
