My truck isn't exhibiting any signs of any issues, but the other day I decided to check my battery voltage with my CTS before I started my truck. The truck fires fast, but it seems like sometimes it takes two or three seconds to start. Maybe that's normal? :dunno:

I turned the key on, let the CTS start up, and then started the truck. Once it started, the battery voltage was only at about 11.6v, and stayed there until I started to drive down the street. Once I got going, it jumped up to 13.5v or so, and stayed there until I turned it off.

Does that seem normal? Can anyone check yours and see if your behavior is similar? I haven't checked the dates on the batteries, but will do that.

Thanks in advance for any input.

My batteries start with Key on Engine off at 12.4v

Turn key on 11.7v.

After glow plugs turn off, it jumps to 13.8v then to 14.2v and rides in that range for the drive.

Scangauge II readings.

Yesterday I thought, let's see if the volts would get higher on start if I hit the high idle switch, which takes the motor to 1200 rpms. Didn't change anything, still 11.7v until glow plugs turned off.
