Good morning to all

I have a 2006 F360 6.0L. The battery light is flickering. Off most of the time, they comes on a a moment or two then off.

Everything checks out. The batteries are about a year old, at 12.5 volts each. Passed load test. The alternator is new, show 14.1v at the alt big lead. The ECU via ODII show 14.1 - 13.6 over a period of time (with the light on)

Chassis grounds appear fine, Ohm & jumped.

Fuses look fine....

Any tips for how to better isolate the problem?

It's a bad voltage regulator in the alternator.

Did you get it from an auto parts store...?

Only MotorCrafts or specialty built alternators like DC Power are the only ones that should be used.

I went through 3 autozone "NEW" alternators before one worked.

agreed. had same issue with mine. I went through 3 motorcraft alts and then bought a DC power and never had another issue

I bought the truck it had a new Ultra. I just installed a new Delco Remy unit.

Still have the same problem. It is not load sensitive or rpm sensitive.

I'll look into DC power. thanks again

check the connector/flat plug (not the stud) on top of the alt.

I did, I show 14.1v even with the light on/flickering. My F350 has a single alt, this makes things simpler and yet more challenging.

I Ohm'd out all the connections, Engine to Cab, Engine to Frame, Frame to Cab. checking to see if I have a light impedance/bad ground. Everything seems to be right in line minimal resistance.

Looking at the DC Power, they have a 14.8 setting for voltage. So I'm wondering with a single alt, it is challenged at times to push enough voltage. (i.e., voltage regulator issue)

Oh the mystery of it all...
