I just recently had the low fuel pressure sensor changed. Upon test drive the cruise control randomly came on, the speedo stopped working etc and some other issues came about.

The mechanic that I am having the work done at saw that the pos power cable on the drivers side broke and was grounding itself off. <-- okay no problem that can be fixed easily.

They tested the batteries and on their interstate tester the reading came back as unstable voltage, etc etc.. They are recommending that I change the batteries out. The tech said it would be a good idea and since the truck uses a lot of voltage.

My question is should I change the batteries, they are obviously pushing interstate batteries as a dealer for them.

Since this is really my first issue with diesels I was wondering if low voltage batteries would effect the truck. To me it sounds like it would but I was hoping to get an idea of what I should, You guys obviously have more experience.

Thanks in advance.

What year is your truck? My 08 had factory batteries that caused all sorts of issues, swapped with two interstates and it has been pretty bulletproof since then.

Low voltage will throw all sorts of weird **** out, modules and computers need good solid voltage, if it fluctuates and drops, modules restart/crash/throw warnings.
