I drive a 2004 ford f250 6.0 and i get around 13 mpg, i can put it to the pedal or take it easy for a week, program all the way up or all the way down and i continually get 13 mpg, why is that?

I wont drive mine for a week or a few days if im on vacation and i will drive it after i get back and when i get empty i check and its up to 15, i dont get it
